In his practice, DeSeve and Associates, Dr. Kenneth L. DeSeve provides out-patient psychological services. Dr. DeSeve decided to turn his part time therapy practice into a full time practice after more than 10 years at the Spokane Community Mental Health Center as the Director of Program Services. He also provides individual, group, family and marital therapy. Dr. DeSeve's patients consistently rated Dr. DeSeve highly in terms of quality of the therapy and service in a recent client satisfaction survey. This survey is based on a highly developed research instrument, the "Client Satisfaction Questionnaire-8." The "Client Satisfaction Questionnaire-8" is widely used all across the nation in the mental health facilities. Client satisfaction questionnaires serve several purposes and are important. First, they give practitioners, such as Dr. Kenneth L. DeSeve, insight into patient perception of the services provided. Second, they provide patients the opportunity to be included in practice development and improvement. Third, they enable Dr. DeSeve to improve his services based on the feedback received. Dr. Kenneth L. DeSeve used a survey that was 18 questions long and covered inquiries on topics such as client rights, timeliness, comfort, care quality, location, cost, efficacy of treatment, and future recommendations. The responses could range from a low of quite dissatisfied, 1, to a high of very satisfied, 4. Dr. DeSeve was consistently rated by his patients either 3, mostly satisfied to 4, very satisfied.

Dr. DeSeve received the highest marks, scoring on average, over 3.90 across multiple questions. The first question, Dr. DeSeve received an average score of 3.96 for the following questions: "have your rights as an individual been respected?"; "When you talked to your therapist, how closely did he or she listen to you?"; and "if you were to seek help again, would you come back to your therapist?". On the second question, Dr. DeSeve recieved an average score of 3.93 for the question "how competent and knowledgeable was your therapist?" and 3.90 for the questions "if a friend were in need of similar help, would you recommend our services to him or her?" and "how would you rate the quality of the service you have received?" Such high marks on so many questions clearly indicate that as a population, Dr. DeSeve's patients think he is a very knowledgeable, competent therapist who is an excellent listener, and provides high quality service. In fact, most of his patients would recommend him to a friend in need of similar help and would return to him for additional therapy if needed. The survey responses fulfill the requirement of being a large enough sample as to be statistically significant and come from a representative sample of 31 of Dr. Kenneth L. DeSeve's patients.
