As a therapist for the Cobb and Douglas County Community Services Boards, she develops and implements treatment plans, and assists with chart management while performing social services activities to enhance, meet or restore client functioning capacity.

ATLANTA, GA, December 19, 2008 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Frederica McClary, Therapist for Cobb County Community Services Board and Douglas County Community Services Board, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of mental healthcare.

Fascinated by human behavior, Ms. McClary began her career in psychology in 2006. She excels in counseling individuals, groups and couples, conducting diagnostic interviews, and managing client progress notes. As a therapist for the Cobb and Douglas County Community Services Boards, she develops and implements treatment plans, and assists with chart management while performing social services activities to enhance, meet or restore client functioning capacity. Experience with marital psychotherapy, cognitive and behavioral psychotherapy, psychodynamic processes, and experiential methods, she has served as co-leader of the psychoeducation group and as co-leader of the interpersonal group therapy composed of spouses of Vietnam combat veterans. She also participates actively in the veterans outreach program. Ms. McClary attributes her success to her learning skills, compassion for others and constant desire for self-improvement.

Ms. McClary was honored with several awards, including the Algernon Sydney Sullivan Award, the Murphy Osborne Award, the Rebekah Chapman Award and the Outstanding Achievement Award. She was also named to the National Dean's List. An avid sportswoman, Ms. McClary received awards for excellence in sports, such as the All-Conference Academic Award for Volleyball, the Co-Most Valuable Player Award for Volleyball and the Most Improved Player Award for Basketball.

A Licensed Associate Professional Counselor, Ms. McClary received her Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Argosy University in 2007 and graduated cum laude from Coker College with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Sociology in 2004. In 2008, she became a certified administrator through the Global Appraisal of Individual Needs and the Government Performance and Results Act. She completed the APA-accredited program at Georgia School of Professional Psychology, and obtained a certification in nonviolent crisis intervention and a certification in Heartsaver First Aid. Previously, Ms. McClary served as the president and co-treasurer of Psi Chi, and as the secretary of Coker College Ambassadors. She is affiliated with Omicron Delta Kappa, Psi Chi and the American Psychological Association. She looks forward to completing her Doctorate and aspires to establish her own practice through a community agency.
