Dr. Rusev has 26 years of professional experience and specializes in psychiatry. As the staff psychiatrist at Patton State Hospital, he is responsible for consulting with patients and determining various courses of treatment. Dr. Rusev proudly introduced four innovations in the field of cognitive psychology and authored a book regarding reading disorders in the adolescent population. He enjoys reviewing research studies on the etiology of specific developmental dyslexia and screening methods for semantic dyslexia, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and mathematics disorder in early school-aged children.

An unyielding desire to learn is the driving force behind Dr. Rusev's success. He earned his Ph.D. in Psychology from the Medical University of Sofia, Bulgaria in 1991 and his MD from the Medical University of Varna, Bulgaria in 1983. He is a member of the American Psychiatric Association and currently practices forensic psychiatry and emergency psychiatry.
