GOLETA, CA, July 2, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Ramon Alcerro-Castro, Psychiatrist in Private Practice, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of mental healthcare.

With 67 years of experience in his field, Dr. Alcerro-Castro specializes in child and adolescent psychiatry. As a psychiatrist in private practice, he is responsible for building relationships with school administrators, faculty, children and adolescents, practicing psychopharmacology and keeping in close contact with his patients' primary doctors. He also does consultations at Los Angeles-area schools and practices in a private clinic that accepts patients' medical insurance as payment. Dr. Alcerro-Castro conducts many of his consultations in Spanish because of the population he serves. He attributes his success to the support he receives from his parents.

Dr. Alcerro-Castro received his Doctorate in Psychoanalysis from the Psychoanalytic Institute at the University in Southern California, his MD in Psychoanalysis from the National Autonomous University of Honduras and his Master's Degree in Public Health Administration from the Graduate School of Public Health at the University of Pittsburgh. He continued with special studies in Public Mental Health at the Harvard School of Public Health in Boston, Massachusetts. A Distinguished Life Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, he supports the ideals of Rotary International.
