Karl A. Fisher, Ph.D. works as a mental health counselor for three tribes in Northern California

HOOPA, CA, August 5, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Karl A. Fisher, Ph.D., Mental Health Counselor and Psychologist for the Department of Human Services, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of mental healthcare.

With 30 years of experience in his field, Dr. Fisher specializes in providing mental health counseling for three native tribes in Northern California, Hoopa, Yurok and Karuk. In his position at the Department of Human Services, he is responsible for counseling the tribal community on depression and family issues, counseling substance abuse victims and providing psychological assessments. He wanted to work in a rural setting and attributes his success to his hard work and persistence.

Dr. Fisher received a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Pacific Graduate School of Psychology, a Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology, a Master's Degree in Counseling and Philosophy from San Francisco State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Whitman College. A Licensed Psychologist and Licensed Family Therapist, he is a member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists.
