Susan M. Walters celebrates over 30 years in the medical field
CINCINATTI, OH, August 7, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Susan M. Walters, Transition Patient Advocate for United States Department of Veterans Affairs, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in veteran affairs.
As transition patient advocate for the United States Department of Veterans Affairs, Ms. Walters is responsible for managing referrals and severely injured veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan, ensuring veterans' rights are rewarded, working with veterans with injuries, burns, amputees, gun shots, scars and posttraumatic stress disorder, helping verterans transition from military life to civilian life and helping them establish employment. She became involved in her profession after working as a registered dental hygienist for 30 years and then branching into the mental health field with veteran affairs as an employment specialist. She attributes her success to her tenacity and never give up attitude. Ms. Walters received her Bachelor of Arts in Physiology from Dowling College, magna cum laude, in 1992, and was a recipient of the Federal Service Excellence Award in 2008.
