Cheryl Desmarais is a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who has dedicated the past nine years to honing an expertise in psychiatric nursing, specializing in helping veterans affected by combat trauma and survivors of sexual trauma. She boasts a total of 24 years of professional experience, including time spent in the U.S. Navy. She received her Master's Degree in Nursing from the University of South Florida in 2007 and hopes to obtain her Ph.D.

She attributes her success to her passion for her profession as well as her learning skills and helping nature. She is a member of the International Society of Psychiatric Nurses and Sigma Theta Tau International and supports the Sonia Plotnick Health Fund.
