Preen, director and clinical neuropsychologist of Farmington Valley Neuropsychology Associates, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in the neuropsychological assessment of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, traumatic brain injury, learning disorders, mood disorders, white matter disease and Huntington's disease.
Dr. Ellen C. Preen is responsible for conducting neuropsychological and psychological evaluations for a wide range of neuropsychological disorders in children (ages 5 and up) as well as adults. She is also involved in conducting group therapy and family therapy. She is highly determined to succeed and provide first rate patient care in the field. She continues to be involved in clinical research, both as clinical examiners for various psychological instruments and researcher for COHORT study for Huntington's Disease.
Dr. Preen received her Doctor of Psychology from University of Hartford. She completed her doctoral fellowships in Clinical Neuropsychology at Yale University's and University of Connecticut's School of Medicine Department of Psychiatry. She also completed her training in clinical neuropsychological and psychological assessment at Yale University, School of Medicine, Department of Neurosurgery and Charlotte Hungerford Hospital. She is currently appointed Clinical Associate at University of Connecticut School of Medicine, where she presents regular workshops to medical residents and fellows, as well as psychology interns. Dr. Preen was also invited to be guest lecturer for Yale University School of Medicine, Department of Neurosurgery's Post-Doctoral fellowship program. She has presented at international and national conferences on topics related to issues on neuropsychology. Dr. Preen is also appointed adjunct faculty positions at Central Connecticut State University and Southern Connecticut State University. Further, she is a member of National Academy of Neuropsychology, International Neuropsychological Society, and American Psychological Association-Division 40.
