PALESTINE, TX, January 7, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Donna J. Stevens, Consultant and Clinical Instructor, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of the psychiatric and mental health industry.

Donna J. Stevens has led an impressive career in psychiatric mental health nursing spanning 51 years. Throughout her career her titles have included psychiatric mental health clinical nurse specialist in home care, outpatient and inpatient, and day hospital programs. She has been a program director at various locations providing geropsychiatry and adult psychiatric services including ones in Texas, Alabama and Florida. She is currently a clinical Instructor with the University of Texas at Tyler. She also consults with professionals regarding psychiatric programs development and nursing.

Ms. Stevens holds a master of science in psychiatric mental health nursing from Texas Woman's University and a bachelor of science in nursing. She became a registered nurse through the Parkland Hospital School of Nursing. A proud member of American Nurses Association, the American Psychiatric Nurses Association, and Texas Clinical Nurse Specialists, she is the author of an article in the American Journal of Nursing, which was republished in the Journal of Psychiatric Nursing. In addition to running a sole proprietorship consulting firm, she was appointed to the medical staff of Palestine Regional Medical Center as a paraprofessional making psychiatric rounds for two psychiatrists. In 2007, she was chosen as Cambridge Publishing's "Professional of the Year in the Psychiatric and Mental Health Industry" from out of over 400,000 active members. She loves what she does and has no plans to retire or slow down.
