Donna Parvin-Byxbe Inducted into Cambridge Who's Who
Donna Parvin-Byxbe uses her practice to reduce stigma about persons with mental disorders.

DEL RIO, TX, January 11, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Donna Parvin-Byxbe, Psychotherapist and Owner of sage Psychotherapy, PLLC, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in mental healthcare.

As a psychotherapist and the owner of Sage Psychotherapy, PLLC, Ms Byxbe is responsible for providing behavioral and mental health services to clients on an individual, marital, and/or family basis. She previously practiced psychotherapy in community mental health in South Mississippi, North Georgia, and North Mississippi from 1995 to 2002. She taught classes as an Adjunct Professor in Psychology at Sui Ross State University, Rio Grande College, on an as-needed basis, from Fall 2002 through Spring 2009. From February, 2003 through October 2008, she practiced in a privately-owned, outpatient mental health clinic in Del Rio, TX. Ms Byxbe attributes her success to her faith, dedication, and belief that she has a journey to fulfill. She is passionate about improving lives through education, cognitive re-training and medical support for persons who have chemical imbalances in the brain, otherwise known as mental illness. She enjoys being able to work in different cultures to expand the knowledge base about mental health; that it is really a medical problem that is manageable with medication and cognitive restructuring. She plans to continue to provide education about how physical health and mental health are integrated and then is expressed in a person's behaVior. Her focus in her personal and professional life is to reduce the stigma and negative assumptions about the people who have chemical imbalances in the brain that have long been held in our society.
