Pamela Lynn Keeling-Nuttall excels as a cognitive behavioral therapist

As a psychotherapist for Hunterdon, St. Barnabas and Clara Maass Medical Centers, Ms. Keeling-Nuttall specializes in crisis intervention and cognitive behavioral therapy. Her responsibilities entail stabilizing crisis situations through goal setting and problem solving in the emergency room, determining the least restrictive level of treatment for patients entering the emergency room for mental health crisis such as losing their house or a job, assessing for safety and accessibility, managing the crisis line, suicidal, drunk and troubled individuals, performing mobile outreach with the police and conducting therapeutic intervention. She has a second job at HMC where she is an outpatient cognitive-behavioral therapist, managing a caseload of 8-15 clients per week.
Ms. Keeling-Nuttall received her Master of Social Work from Kean University, with honors, in 2001, and she is a licensed and clinical social worker. After her brother was diagnosed with a serious drug addiction, she decided to pursue a career that would allow her to help others. She attributes her success to her caring nature, self-drive and ability to help others apprehend their potential. She also serves as a state screener for New Jersey. In the future, she intends to start her own private practice and continue to be involved in crisis intervention, which is her passion.
