Ellen Fink-Samnick is President of EFS Supervision Strategies, LLC, which is dedicated to professional empowerment for health and human service professionals. She brings her energy, wit and a "no nonsense & lessons learned approach" from 27 years in developing innovative case management models for health & mental health care. With national and international recognition for her work on Professional Resilience & Transdisciplinary Ethics, Ellen is a popular presenter and respected author, with articles published in numerous professional journals and translated into multiple languages.
Along with her clinical social work supervision practice in Virginia, Ellen is Adjunct Faculty for George Mason University's College of Health and Human Services. She is a lead Clinical Supervision Certification Trainer for the National Association of Social Workers of Virginia and an Approved Instructor for them. Ellen is also an Examination Item Writer for the Association of Social Work Boards, and serves on the Editorial Advisory Board for Lippincott's Professional Case Management.
Ellen is a Commissioner for the Commission for Case Manager Certification, a current member of their Executive Committee, and Chair of their Ethics and Professional Conduct Committee. She has served as an Executive Officer and Board member of The Case Management Society of the National Capital Area and was their 2002 Case Manager of the Year. For the National Association of Social Workers of Virginia, Ellen has served as an Executive Officer, Board Member and Delegate. She recently contributed to the inaugural Professional Self-Care policy, published in the latest edition of Social Work Speaks. Ellen is a Certified Case Manager, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Certified Rehabilitation Provider, and a Clinical Supervision Certification Trainer. She received Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Social Work from the University at Buffalo, a Post Masters Certificate in Social Work Supervision from Hunter University School of Social Work, and a Post Master Certificate in Social Work Administration.
