As Executive Officer of the NSW Consumer Advisory Group - Mental Health Inc., she has routinely exhibited the passion, vision and dedication necessary to be considered among the best.

The NSW Consumer Advisory Group is the statewide, incorporated, non-government peak body which represents mental health consumers to all levels of the NSW Government, acting as a bridge between mental health consumers and the government. They encourage mental health consumers to provide input into all aspects of mental health service provision. The organization gathers information and lobbies the decision makers about issues relevant to the mental health system.

Karen Oakley is responsible for all major aspects of managing the organization as well as overseeing the daily operations, strategic planning and supervising a staff of 16. During her educational career, she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Charles Stuart University. Karen is a member of the Mental Health Coalition of NSW and the Mental Health Council of Australia.
