Drawing on 34 years of professional experience, Deborah S. Anicama stands at the helm of her own mental health practice. A sought-after therapist, she places emphasis on establishing healing connections with her clients through individual, family, couple or group consultations. Deborah weaves cognitive behavioral techniques, insight-oriented therapy, solution-focused approaches, hypnotherapy, and family systems therapies to meet the variety of personalities, communication styles, and determined goals of her clients. Ms. Anicama brings to her work the background of a seasoned educator. Prior to establishing her practice, she spent 22 years in the Broward County School System as a teacher, behavior specialist, and exceptional education specialist. Her bachelor of science degree was achieved in 1976 at Western Illinois University with a concentration in special education. She achieved a masters degree in counselor education with a concentration in mental health counseling in 1994 from Florida Atlantic University. Deborah became a licensed practitioner in 2001, and worked as a psychotherapist and family counselor with another practitioner in a private practice in the Coral Springs area. In 2005 Ms. Anicama decided to take the ultimate leap of faith by founding her own psychotherapy practice. She attributes her successful transition to her perseverance, passion, persistence, and focus on people.

Active in a number of industry organizations, Ms. Anicama is a member of the Mental Health Associations of Broward County, the American Mental Health Counselors Association, is a board certified professional counselor with the American Psychotherapy Association, and National Board for Certified Clinical Hypnotherapists. She contributes to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, research for the MS society, and Women In Distress. Deborah derives deep personal satisfaction from helping others through their journey in life and looks forward to continuing in the same capacity.
