Dr. Beth C. Mason is Chosen as "Professional of the Year in Mental Health Care"
Dr. Mason has demonstrated more than two decades of excellence in working with the people involved in domestic violence

Winchester, TN, May 24, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ --Dr. Beth C. Mason, therapist at the Middle Tennessee Family Counseling Center, as well as a professional counselor for the Franklin County School System, has been named the Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year in Mental Health Care. While inclusion in the Cambridge Who's Who Registry is an honor, only a very few are then chosen above that to represent their professional fields, and are singled out for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, years of service, and certainly the credentials they have earned.

As a nationally certified psychologist and licensed school counselor and teacher, Dr. Mason has demonstrated more than two decades of excellence in working with the people involved in domestic violence and its painful ramifications, as well as a lengthy history of working with adolescent self-esteem issues. Her perseverance and internal drive have allowed her to be a static and positive influence on the youth as well as their families in the community through individual and family therapy. Previously, Dr. Mason worked at the Haven of Hope Abuse Shelter; has held workshops on "Dealing with Treatment Resistant Families" for state probation officers; and been a teacher and counselor at a state reformatory for girls. She also helped adolescents and college-aged students as a Psychology professor at Tennessee Tech University and Motlow State Community College, where she specialized in assuaging personal and academic anxieties.

Dr. Mason holds a Doctorate in Human Development Counseling from Vanderbilt University; a Master's degree in Guidance and Counseling from Tennessee Tech University; and a Bachelor of Science degree with a double major in Liberal Arts and Secondary Education from Tennessee Tech University. With such a rich history, she has also attained the title of Board Certified Clinical Psychotherapist and Certified Professional Counselor. This has expanded her capacity to help others in need. Innately compassionate, Dr. Mason is involved with originating and maintaining the county-wide Backpack Program, which supplies food to 500 children in need each week of the school year. To remain current with industry trends, she is a member of the American Counseling Association and the Network of Master Psychologists, just to mention a few of the many organizations she participates in. Dr. Mason intends to continue counseling to remove as much pain in this world as she can.
