As Community Education Supervisor for Comprehensive Mental Health and Pebbles in the Pond, as well as throughout her incredible 22 years in the field, Karen has consistently demonstrated the vision, dedication and diligence necessary to be considered among the best.
Comprehensive Mental Health is a community-based nonprofit agency that provides mental health services to children, families and adults in Pierce County, Washington. The organization was founded on the belief that social and emotional problems can be most effectively dealt with in the community we work to be accessible, responsive, consumer-focused, holistic and non-stigmatizing.
Pebbles in the Pond is a nonprofit, psycho-education program dedicated to helping patients and providers better manage chronic mental illness. Pebbles in the Pond has resources to effectively deal with a variety of chronic neurobiological disorders, ranging from depression to bipolar disorders to schizophrenia.
Karen possesses extensive expertise in psychological education. She is responsible for planning the programs, making presentations, managing funding, and data entry. During her collegiate career, Karen earned a Master's degree in Community Agency Counseling from Seattle University. She is also a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. Karen is a member of the Therapeutic Education Association and the American Association for Community Psychiatry.
