During his collegiate career, he earned a PhD in Human Genetics as well as a Medical degree in Forensic Psychiatry and Child Adolescence Forensic Psychiatry. Dr. Mejia is a member of the Canadian Psychiatry Association, Canadian Academy of Psychiatry and Law, Canadian Medical Association, Ontario Psychiatry Association, International Association of Forensic Mental Health Services, and the American Academy of Psychiatry Educators.
