Dr. Lucy Daniels fosters emotional and creative freedom through psychoanalytic treatment and research

RALEIGH, NC, August 19, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Lucy Daniels, Clinical Psychologist and Author, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in clinical psychology.

A licensed clinical psychologist, Dr. Daniels holds a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She works in private practice, meeting with patients and helping them learn about themselves and handle problems. Dr. Daniels conducts high-depth work with patients age 3 to 90. She is also the founder of the Lucy Daniels Foundation, a nonprofit organization that fosters emotional and creative freedom through psychoanalytic treatment and research, education, and outreach. She also established the Lucy Daniels Center for Early Childhood, which employs psychoanalytic principles to enhance the emotional development of young children and their parents. In recognition of her work, Dr. Daniels was recently named a Professional of the Year in Clinical Psychology by Cambridge Who's Who. This special distinction is reserved for individuals who demonstrate exemplary leadership skills and unwavering dedication to their profession.

Dr. Daniels has also achieved much success as an author. A survivor of anorexia nervosa, she wrote her first best seller, 'Caleb, My Son,' at the age of 20 while she was in treatment for her condition. Her book earned her a fellowship from The Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation; she is the youngest person to receive this honor. She has also written 'High on a Hill,' 'With a Woman's Voice,' 'The Eyes of the Father' and 'Dreaming Your Way to Creative Freedom.' Her books are available on Amazon.com.
